Sister Rose Miriam (Mary Johanna) Gansle, Sister of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament of Corpus Christi, was welcomed into eternal life by her loving God on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Born to Justus J. and Sylvia Beck Gansle on June 6, 1942, Sister Rose Miriam is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Jerry, Jim, and John Gansle. She is survived by one brother Richard (Dick) (wife, Sue) Gansle; a niece, Greta Gansle; a great niece, Sylvia, a great nephew, Anthony, and other nieces and nephews.
Sister Rose Miriam attended Saint Patrick Elementary School and graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in 1960. She taught at Incarnate Word Academy and at various parish schools in Corpus Christi, Brownsville, and Kingsville, Texas. Serving the evangelizing mission of the Church included teaching in the Pastoral Institute for Ministry and Adult Faith Formation in the Corpus Christi Diocese.
She served the congregation in numerous capacities, such as Secretary General, Vocation Director, and Organist. She also served as Secretary General for the Sisters of the Incarnate Word of Parma Heights, Ohio, from 2009-2015. She participated in various congregational committees, contributed to the work for the reunification process of eight Incarnate Word Congregations, and enjoyed meeting Sisters of all communities by attending national and international reunions. She will be remembered for her wit, her music, her kindness, and her love of our foundress, Jeanne Chezard de Matel.
Funeral arrangements are provided by Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service. Due to the pandemic, services will NOT be open to the public. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Incarnate Word Sisters Retirement Fund", Attention: Sister Annette Wagner, 5201 Lipes Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78413.
The funeral services will be live streamed on the Facebook Page of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament of Corpus Christi. The live stream will begin 10 minutes before both services.
Wake Service/Rosary: Tuesday, August 24th at 6:00 pm.
Funeral Mass: Wednesday, August 25th at 10:00 am.
